How long have you been in business?
The Gate Doctor has been in the security business since 1989. We have had a low-voltage license since 1993. With many years of service in the security business, The Gate Doctor has the experience to help you design a system for your specific needs, or repair an existing system.
What is your primary product or service?
Electronic Driveway Gates, Automated Driveway Gates, Telephone entry, Card Reader's, Card Access Systems, Closed Circuit Television Systems, The Gate Doctor installs, repairs and services all types of systems. The Gate Doctor has mobile welding for minor steel repairs.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
My Father was in the electronics business. I helped him as he designed and built automated dialers for waste water treatment plants. When I got out of the Army, where I trained in communications, I looked for a way to continue my interest in electronics. I worked with a cable company installing cable. I started in the banking industry, and for 9 years I installed banking equipment around the southeast United States. In 1999 when the industry changed, I changed with it and took my knowledge of electronics and started working on gates as well as access control and video cameras systems.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
The Gate Doctor is recognized in the industry for repairing and installing many different types of gates and gate equipment. We do have packages that we prefer, but we are willing to service and work on most gate systems. We stock our trucks with the necessary parts for most gate repairs. We also are recognized for the custom gates we build, however, if the customer gives us a budget, we can stick with it and provide a gate to meet their individual needs.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
Currently The Gate Doctor has 2 locations.

The Gate Doctor services the North Georgia area from Atlanta area to the foothills of Georgia out to Athens area.
Who owns your company or runs daily operations?
The Gate doctor is owned by Mark Hitchcock, and his wife Sylvia Hitchcock. They have 2 lovely ladies that work with them in the office. They have 4 technicians that install and repair gates.
What are your hours of operation?
The Gate Doctor is open M-F 9-5 p.m. and emergency service is available on most weekends and holidays
